Welcome

Welcome to my Orbiter site. This site is dedicated to supporting the Orbiter Space Flight simulator by Dr. Martin Schweiger. You can find the main Orbiter website at orbitersim.com.

What's Orbiter Space Flight Simulator?

ORBITER is a free flight simulator that goes beyond the confines of Earth's atmosphere. Launch the Space Shuttle from Kennedy Space Center to deploy a satellite, rendezvous with the International Space Station or build your own custom station in orbit, or take the futuristic Delta-glider for a tour through the solar system - the choice is yours.
But make no mistake - ORBITER is not a space shooter. The emphasis is firmly on realism, and the learning curve can be steep. Be prepared to invest some time and effort to brush up on your orbital mechanics background. A good starting point is JPL's Space Flight Learners' Workbook - or you could tap into the accumulated knowledge base of the Orbiter community to get advice.

What's the purpose of this site?

This site is here to provide as many links to Orbiter resouces as I can find. Also, there's a live chat here for Orbiter fans to chat. You'll also find postings regarding new releases of Orbiter, any new addons, etc.

What will I find here?

- Orbiter links: downloads, tutorials, addons, etc.

- Orbiter News

- Live Chat with Orbiter fans

- A few non-Orbiter links dealing with spaceflight, and simulation programs.

What won't I find here?

Direct downloads mainly, I don't have the server space to post alot of big files, rather I'm going to have a "download" section that points to other sites where you can find orbiter downloads. When you click a link and it opens into a new browser, you're leaving this site to go to the site where the downloadss are. The main goal here is to create a "mother of all Orbiter links" page so people can have one-stop shopping for Orbiter related downloads.

Who does this site belong to?

This site was created and is mantained by John M. Laury, aka SpaceNut.
